Default Spectranet to BSNL ADSL Modem cum WiFi Router

    Hi everyone,

Just a day before i have got hold of a new cable connection from spectranet. Earlier i was having bsnl adsl connection. I would like to make the spectranet work wirelessly with the WA3002G4 Utstarcom adsl modem router as i have two laptops.
I have seen similar related posts but i am unable to configure.
I have been given an ip address(192.168.x.x) + default gateway + dns servers from the spectranet company.

I have connected the cable net RJ45 conn to LAN 1 of the router and LAN 2 of the router i use another LAN wire and connect it to the laptop.
    1) I have tried converting the current PPPoE to MER and given these ip addresses. Nothing works.
    2) I have change the PPPoE to use the user name and password as given to me by spectranet. Nothing works as usual.
In both the above cases it always states "ADSL link down" which i think is not right because i am connecting cable and not telephone line into it.

    Can anyone please help me....

So far what I have realised using spectranet with wifi router is that, the user name setting in router page is of no use, just use the routing functionality. Even though you enable dhcp on router, still provide static ip to your wireless adapter (different from router ip). After that it works, but still goes to spectranet login page everytime you start browsing initially. I haven't found a way to bypass that yet.

I am using my Belkin N150 router and it working great.

Also try to change the preference for IDLE timeout as shown in the attached image.

When you said its working, are you able to use more than 1 machine with the setup ?. And also can you guide me where did you get that preference screen ? In my account details page, these are the options that I have.spectra_web.PNG

Although I can connect 2 machines to the router, however only the first machine will be able to connect to internet, coz when I open the browser in the second machine, it goes to the login screen and when I use the same username pwd, it says session has already started.

so in a nutshell I can use only pc at a time. Customer care has told the only way to solve this is by reserving my router mac addr for this login. I was wondering if there is any other easier solution like setting up the username pwd at the router level itself.

I also tried to connect Spectranet using ADSL Modem cum WiFi Router. But could not succeed. can anybody tell atleast how to configure it to access atleast one laptop.

I configured with same static IP given to my laptop and DNS server details but nothing works. It would be helpful if somebody provide the process step by step
