Unhappy Pacenet Meghbela cable Internet+WI FI hot spot (win XP).

    Hi,

I want to use my XP pc as wifi hotspot using belkin usb wifi dongle and Pacenet cable modem connection. I am configuring Wifi network as adhoc (computer to computer). But in LAN setting advance tab(ethernet adapter) "internet sharing option is not coming. As a result whenever I am connecting Win7 laptop through adhoc wifi network, the win7 showing "no internet connection".

But in the same way BSNL BB connection (in Bridge mode) is being shared. But in that case LAN setting advance tab(For PPPoE dialer) "internet sharing option is coming and I am setting that.

Form pacenet they have supplied a modem which have model no "HPNA EOC SLAVE". But no manufacturer info is there. And there is an web client called "24online client" for entering user name password for dialing.

Is this problem is due to static IP system used in pacenet cable modem? Anyone tried this? Please share your experience.

    SRJ

if u have been provided with a static IP, then save the same in your wifi router.... generally u can access your wifi router by typing 192.168.2.1 in ur address bar.... there u should have some sort of settings tab where u can specify ur satic ip connection

Thanks for the reply.Actually I am using WI-FI adapter in the PC. Not A Router. What I am trying is to distribute my net connection (in LAN card) through Wi-Fi adapter(USB dongle) to my laptop.

Default This has a way out--Wireless Router with copy PC mac feature.

Any body have the same problem must use A wifi router (not an adapter+PC).Copy PC mac to your WAN when config the router.

PMPL and other cable ISPs use the web login system, and you can't auto dial it from the router, itself. Use a WiFi router in static IP mode and put the internal IP address your ISP gave you, in the IP field. Also put the Subnet and the DNS server addresses. After that, connect to the WiFi through any device, and try to open a webpage. You'll be redirected to their login page. Log in and keep the page open. Now you can share the internet simultaneously through any device.
