Default Croma 1 Ton Air Conditioner

I came to know about this 1 ton air conditioner from Croma which is portable. You can easily shift the air conditioner from one place to another without any hassle. Not only is this an air conditioner but it also has a fan which has three speed functions and also a dehumidifier, so its good when the monsoon season starts. Its got a rotary compressor so this makes it very energy efficient. Like all air conditioners you also get an LCD remote with it. The cost of this portable 1 ton air conditioner is around Rs26000, and it covers a room area of about 10x10.

Anyone used this or seen this? I was thinking of purchasing this, but haven't yet decided so thought would get some thoughts on this.

Ive seen this product, I dont know if you know or not but there is a pipe where hot air comes out of and you need to keep that pipe outside, which means you will have to make a hole in the wall or window. Yes it is portable, but then you would also have holes in most rooms of the house.

Portable ac is not the best thing in my opinion. It really depends upon your usage and if you are going to move around every couple of years from one place to another then window ac is the best thing. If you want to run it 24/7 then get a split unit with inverter technology.
There is a detailed thread on this. Please use the search function.

I think you should test out the ac before purchasing it, to make sure it gives sufficient cooling.

There is not much point it being portable then! However what Admin said that if your going to shift every 2-3 years then its a possible option, but even then a window ac would be better, it would give more cooling and be easy to install.

Not so bad for those who cant afford an ac. But does this portable ac give more cooling than a cooler?

Sound a too good to be true kind of thing, its a portable ac, but for only Rs26000. The cooling is probably more than a cooler and less than an ac.

Ive seen this particular model and seen it being used in a home and to be honest it take it time to cool, its not as effective as it seem to be, your probably better off getting an ac or even a cooler.
